Mona Lisa

After seeing the wonderfully edited mona lisa in class last weds, i began thinkin of the initials that were carved into the botton on the painting. As Santiago explained to us, the letters meant "She is Hot in the Ass." I knew that the art Duchamp created was avant garde and different so I looked up some french and found out that Duchamp's meaning for the picture is very comical, for the initials meaning can be slang for- horny. Basically Duchamp added his touch on the mona lisa and declared that she was horny- adding a comedic viewpoint of this very famous piece of art...

What happens when drugs, sex, and exploration combiner as one... People get fucked up!! As if the drinking scene wasnt big enough at this time- add drugs on top of drugs, sex with anyone willing, and a new standard for the American person and one will find that the cultural and moral standards of life change- drastically. The norm changes, therefor the attitudes of poeple changes- leading to different decisions and alternate ways of living. As seen in the clockwork orange, sex, drugs, crime, and hatred rule the actions of the lead characters. Rape, assault, murder, drug use, 'milk bars', new 'underground' terms of language all un-filter the minds of individuals. The purpose of life becomes strewed and forgotten as minute-by-minute pleasure takes control.

Between these time periods the chaotic use of drugs mixed with sex and alcohol result in a 'live for the pleasure of the moment' attitude. There were few goals, ambitions, and morals to live by- if drugs sex or alcohol could fix it - great. if not, hate crimes?

As if the world wasn't changed by the iphone, jobs and apple have yet again found a way to mold the modern society into their dream. The iphone not only took over the phone industry, but also the internet, music, and entertainment industries as well. With thousands of apps, the iphone can make even the laziest of people lazier, for now- instead of going to your computer and ordering pizza online, or calling (who still does that?!) all one needs to do is click the app on the screen of their phone and order there. That's impressive, but now a new gadget that is posed to be the most useful- it hasn't even hit stores yet!! I'm not dissing apple in anyway, in fact i think its brilliant what they are doing and putting into their products- but when will computers and phone become smarter than us, and how long till the oh-so-fake "easy button" concept is actually integrated into our society?
